On a Rainy day, Lions Run in the Greater Louisville Classic

The Lady Lions ran this weekend at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.  It was a windy and wet race this year due to several days of rain prior to the start of the race.  The women brought a great attitude despite sloppy, wet weather.  "There were probably nearly 900 runners who had already raced by the time our women took to the course, but they came ready to work hard and a desire to improve on their times for the year," said Coach Hall.

Freshman Makayla Hewell led the way for the women, covering the 5,000 meters in 19:52, her fastest time of the year.  Makayla was followed by the group of seniors, Jazmin Konnick (20:03), Lindsey Toole (20:41), Gabby Hill (20:51), and Coco Ruiz (21:01) to make up the top five runners for Emmanuel.  The ladies are improving and continuing to perform well as a unit as they get into the thick of the season.

The top seven runners will race in Charlotte on October 9th and the rest of the team will compete on Saturday, October 10th in the Georgia Division II Championships in Milledgeville, Georgia.
