GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team fell 3-1 to Limestone College in their conference opener on Friday night. This loss brings the Lions record to 4-7 overall, 0-1 in conference.

The Saints had several runs in the first set that allowed them to build a large lead. The Lions couldn't overcome the deficit and lost 25-14.

Junior Jenna Woodruff kicked off set number two with the opening kill. The Saints responded with a kill of their own before the Lions capitalized on several Limestone errors to pull them ahead, 5-1. The Lions used that momentum to build upon their lead. Emmanuel finished the second set with their highest hitting percentage of the night and a 25-17 victory.

The Lions had a strong start to the third set and showed off their diverse offense with 6 different players putting down kills in their first 7 points of play. Three errors from the Saints propelled the Lions to a 9-6 lead. Unfortunately, a string of Emmanuel errors would follow, allowing Limestone six straight points and the lead. The Lions would fight back and both teams would exchange points until a tied score of 22-22. Limestone would then finish off the third set with three straight points for a 25-22 victory.

The fourth and final set was all Limestone who commanded the court with a .324 hitting percentage. The Saints led the entire set and closed out the match 25-15.
