Lions Sweep Erskine in Final Regular Season Match

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team ended their regular season with their 10th straight win, this time against conference opponent Erskine College. In their previous matchup, the Lions won 3-1. This time Emmanuel swept the Fleet in three sets.

Erskine started off the match with a five point run while the Lions struggled to side out. The Fleet continued to unleash a flurry of points and found themselves at a 19-10 lead. Finally, Emmanuel began to put some points on the board when Junior Mia McKensey sided out with a kill. Sophomore Jenna Woodruff followed up with one of her own. An attack error for the Lions would give the fleet another point before Emmanuel returned with a 4 point run. The fleet would score again with a kill from Jauhna Smith before a service error allowed the Lions to go on a five point run. Emmanuel came back to close out the first set 25-22.

In the second set, Emmanuel broke away after a service error from the Fleet. Junior Stephanie Hardy served an ace followed by a kill from both Freshman Mia Cotton and Junior Jessica Gray. A couple more runs from the Lions made for an easy 25-20 victory.
