Lions Fall to King on Family Night

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Women's Volleyball team hosted family night Friday night to honor our Emmanuel Volleyball Families, the team also took a tough loss to King.

The first set remained close for the majority of the game. The Lions were down 22-24, and answered with two straight points to tie it up at 24-24. The Lions fought but were not able to get the win, losing the first set 28-30.

King jumped to a 11-3 lead early in the second set, and Emmanuel was never able to catch-up, dropping the second set 15-25.

The Lions started the third set with a 9-4 lead, but the Tornadoes of King came back to make it 13-13 and take a little bit of a lead. Emmanuel made the game 20 all before losing the third set 23-25, and ending the match in just three sets.

The Lions offense was led by Cali Jones and Andrea Quintanilla with seven kills each, Erica Burnham added six kills to the offensive effort. Becca Graham and Brittany Scarbrough collected 12 and 11 assists, respectively. Sophie Windover picked up 14 digs for the night. Elissa Waldrop put down four blocks.

Thank you for always cheering us on!

Come out to the Shaw Athletic Center at 2:00 PM Saturday to honor our Seniors (Andrea Quintanilla, Becca Graham, Jenna Lamont, Rhema Mahan and Sophie Windover) in the last home game of the season.
