FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.—The Lion's volleyball team split their conference games this weekend, taking a loss to Southern Wesleyan and a victory over North Greenville.

SWU took the match on Friday in three sets, coming out on top 25-19, 25-20, and 25-11. The first set was tied at 16-16 before the Warriors of Southern Wesleyan outscored the lions 9 points to 3 to end the set. Set two was tied at 19-19,and SWU went on a four point run, being able to end the set 25-20.

Elissa Waldrop and Andrea Quintanilla lead the Lions offense with five kills each. Becca Graham was able to collect 13 assists. Sophie Windover picked up nine digs. Erica Burnham put down three service aces.

The Lions came out victorious on top of North Greenville on Saturday to turn the weekend around. Emmanuel won in four sets 25-20, 21-25, 25-20, and 25-19.

The team had two players record double-doubles. Rachel Tolleson had 10 kills and 23 digs, and Becca Graham put up 14 assists with 11 digs.

Tolleson and Graham were two of the four Lions to put up double digit digs for the match. Sophie Windover and Erica Burnham picked up 16 and 12 digs, respectively. Cali Jones put down nine kills. Andrea Quintanilla and Danielle Sweet each had eight kills. Brittany Scarbrough recorded five service aces and led the offense with 20 assists.

The team finishes out their regular season this weekend at home playing King on Friday at 7:00 PM, and Senior Day is set for Saturday at 2:00 against Lees-McRae. Join us at Shaw Athletic Center to cheer on your Lions!
