FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. --- The Emmanuel College Women's Volleyball team powered past the Truett McConnell Bears Monday Night in a three set win for the Lions.

"Tonight was a great home opener for us. It gave us a much-needed win after a hard fought weekend. We were able to work with different lineups and give everyone the opportunity to touch the floor. This enables us to keep building on team chemistry and the future of the program. Tomorrow, we begin preparing for our opening weekend with Conference Carolinas play" head coach Latonia Allen had to say about the win.

The lions won the first set 25-8, and didn't look back, taking the following two sets 25-14 and 25-18.

The lion's offense was evenly spread with Erica Burnham totaling 8 kills, Rachel Tolleson contributing with 6, and Rhema Mahan and Mercedes Pressely each had 5 kills. Andrea Quintanilla put down 5 blocks for the lions, and Rachel Tolleson picked up 10 digs. Becca Graham dished out 12 assists for the night.

The team will travel to Wilson, North Carolina on Friday to open up conference play in Conference Carolinas and take on the Barton College Bulldogs, before playing at Mount Olive College (Mount Olive, N.C.) on Saturday.
