Women Compete at Susan Rouse Invitational

CENTRAL, S.C. - The ladies traveled to Central, South Carolina to compete at the SWU-Susan Rouse Invite.

In the 100 meter dash, senior Deja Barthell lowered her college PR to a 12.47 to finish third overall. Junior, Alisha Wright continued to dominate the 100 meter hurdles with her second career win, her third PR of the season, and a new school record which she lowered the third time this season to a 14.53. Senior Ashley George, lowered her personal record to a 15.51 in the 100 meter hurdles to finish third, while the freshman Clara Heiss finished right behind her with a new PR of 15.52 to take third. Freshman Thalia Sutherland lowered her college PR in the 400 meter dash to a 1:02.11 to take eighth, while junior Charity Williams opened up with a 1:06.51. 

Junior Priscilla Gosnell took seventh in the 400 meter hurdles with a new personal record of 1:13.37. Freshman Dominga Ortega took a personal record in the 800 meter run with a 2:51.03. Sophomore Alexa Quarles took a personal record in the 5000 meter run with a 19:11.91 to take fourth overall. The women's 4x100 meter relay lowered the school record for the fourth time this season with a 47.91 thanks to Barthell, Sutherland, Heiss, and Teasley. There were several field standouts as well. 

Freshman Mia McKensey takes third overall in high jump with a new PR of 5'1. Clara Heiss vaulted a 9'8 to take fourth overall. Deja finished ninth in long jump with a 16'1 and seventh in triple jump with a 33'6.75.

The lady lions will end their regular season next week at the Gamecock Invitational at the University of South Carolina.
