Franklin Springs, Ga - The Emmanuel Track & Field team had a great opportunity to serve the community by visiting at the local nursing home and bringing some Christmas cheer to the residents. "We hope to make a difference in people's lives, but I think we leave with more joy than we started with. These residents are such a blessing to talk to and visit because they have amazing life stories and such wisdom!" The team spent close to half an hour just visiting and talking with the residents, either in their rooms or out in the common areas where they were sitting. After some time of visiting and getting to know the residents the team invited everyone into the dining hall to sing some worship songs as well as some traditional Christmas carols.
Senior Tevin Glaze has been visiting at the nursing home with the Emmanuel Track team since they first started going a couple of years ago and has counted it a privilege to serve. "Serving at the nursing home has always been a great experience for this team. It was an uplifting feeling being able to bring joy and happiness to the residents of the home, especially during the holiday season!"
The Lions hope to continue serving the community in whatever ways they are able and wish everyone a wonderful Christmas Holiday with family and friends. Christ's blessings from the Emmanuel Track and Field team and the whole Emmanuel family!
