Banks County Standout Joins Emmanuel Running

We're excited to announce that Makayla Hewell, from Banks County High School, is joining the Emmanuel College Cross Country and Track Team. "We're so pumped that Makayla has chosen to join us here at Emmanuel. I think she'll come in and have an immediate impact on our team!" said Coach Hall.

Makayla brings a very accomplished resume along with her, including multiple top ten performances at the state cross country championships and multiple top five performances at the track and field state championships. She comes in with personal bests of 5:05 for the 1500 meter run, 5:24 for 1600 meters, 11:31 for the 3200. She has run 18:42 for 5k in cross country, and has also run sub 19:00 in a road race this year.

Junior, Lindsey Toole had this to say concerning Makayla becoming her new teammate, "I'm very excited for Makayla signing to run with our team. I believe she will be a great asset to our team both physically and spiritually. She seems to have a great work ethic and attitude, which are two things stressed to us throughout the year. I'm happy she chose Emmanuel and can't wait for her to start this new journey in her life!"

"I hope that Makayla joining us is only the beginning of a great relationship we can have with Banks County High and Coach McDuffie for many years to come," said Coach Hall. Coach Kelly McDuffie is actually an alum of Emmanuel College where she played basketball for Coach Bona. We're very thankful for our Emmanuel alumni all over the United States and the world, who are making a difference for the Kingdom of God, impacting so many lives each day! We pray that never changes!
