Lions edge Warriors to finish second at SSAC Track and Field Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala.---The Emmanuel College women's Track and Field team posted a second-place finish at the recent Southern States Athletic Conference championships held over the weekend in Gulf Shores.

EC finished with 110 points to narrowly edge Southern Wesleyan (107 points) for second place in the conference. Brenau University ran away with the event for a second consecutive year posting a 321.5 score.

Jazmin Konnick posted a facility-record performance winning the 800m run in a time of 2:28:41.

The Lions' national meet qualifiers will now be preparing for the NCCAA National Track and Field meet to be held in Rome, Ga. on May 1 as well as the NAIA National Track and Field meet to be held in Gulf Shores, Ala. on May 22.
