Lady Lions Sweep King University, 7-0.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — The Emmanuel College women's tennis team hosted their match against conference opponent King University on Friday. After dominating every single match, the Lady Lions are now on a 5 game winning streak and 4-0 in Conference Carolinas. 

With only two tight matches, the women's team defeated King University 7-0

Double number 3 composed by Marta Rozados and Katharina Kiderlen did not give any chances to their opponent to impose their game style as they won 6-0.  

Number 1 double composed by seniors Chloe O'Connor and Fantine Botella had the same scenario as they showed a really aggressive game style and defeated their opponent 6-1. 

Playing double number 2 was Maria Raich and Pearllan Cipriano who also managed to dominate their opponent the whole match thanks to a lot of pouching at the net. The new duo for the women's team won 6-1. 

After the doubles, the Lady Lions were now up 1-0 and were ready to give everything for their singles.

Playing number 4 singles was junior Maria Raich who thanks to a lot of aggressive shots did not give any chance to her opponent to score. Our Lady Lion won with a perfect 6-0, 6-0.

Victoria Silva was playing number 6 singles. Without any major difficulties, Silva won 6-1, 6-1.

Number 1 single was senior Botella Fantine who used a different game style today. Botella decided to use her consistency today to defeat her opponent 6-1, 6-2. 

Pearllan Cipriano was playing number 2 and had a different match than her teammates as she encountered more difficulties. After being down the whole first set, Pearllan managed to comeback and force a tiebreaker. After winning the first set 7-6, Cipriano used the same strategy to conclude with a 6-3 win in the second set. 

Number 3 single was played by freshman Marta Rozados who had a really good beginning of the match as she won the first set 6-1 without difficulties. In the second set, Marta's opponent changed her game style as she was playing more defensively. After losing the second set Marta had to stay strong to play the super tie break. Thanks to a lot of patience and consistency, Rozados defeated her opponent 6-1, 4-6, 10-5.

Our second freshman Lauren Castillon was playing a pro set for the single number 5 as the match was already clinched. Thanks to a lot of patience and aggressive backhands, Castillon managed to defeat her opponent 8-4. 

The Lady Lions finished the day with a 7-0 win against King University. 

Women's Tennis will be hosting their next match on Saturday, March 23rd against Lees McRae University.
