FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team fell to conference opponent Limestone College on Sunday. This loss brings the Lions record to 8-5 overall, 5-4 in conference.
Limestone got off to a quick start with their first goal coming just five minutes into the game. A Lion foul set up Limestone's Selina Boveleth with a penalty kick, pulling the Saints ahead 1-0. Just three minutes later, the Saints attacked again with a goal from Danielle Murray. The rest of the half remained scoreless.
The Saints would put in their third goal early in the second half to extend their lead to 3-0. Facing a hefty deficit with less than 40 minutes to play, the Lions began to bring some pressure. The Saints were now on the defense as Emmanuel doubled their opponents second half shot's. In the seventy-eighth minute, Junior Hannah Logue scored off of an assist from Junior Lindsay Lee to put the Lions on the board. Emmanuel would attempt two more unsuccessful shots before the time expired, giving Limestone the victory 3-1.
Next up, the Lions travel to Barton College on Saturday, October 26th.
