Women’s Soccer Suffers First Loss of the Season to Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's soccer team took on Young Harris College on Wednesday night. Despite more shots on goal, the Lions were outscored 4-2.
 
At just under 8 minutes into the game, Young Harris was the first to score. Emmanuel's Molly Lunsford would respond 11 minutes later with an assist from Lindsay Lee to tie up the match. With under five minutes left on the clock in the first period, the Mountain Lions were able to find the goal two more times to take a 3-1 lead.
 
When play continued into the second half, the Lions were on the defense. Once again the Mountain Lions were able to score pulling themselves ahead, 4-1. In the seventieth minute, Hannah Logue found the net on her fourth shot attempt of the night, bringing Young Harris' lead down to just two. Two more shots from the Lions proved to be unsuccessful as the clock ticked down, giving Young Harris the 4-2 victory.
 
The Lions totaled 14 shots, including 7 on goal.
 
The women's soccer team will continue action on Saturday, September 21st with their first home game of the season. They take on conference opponent Mount Olive at 12:00pm.
