Women's Soccer Ranks 5th in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Four-time defending champion Limestone has been picked as the favorite in the 2019 Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Preseason Poll. 

Winners of 45 straight against Conference Carolinas opponents entering the 2019 season, Limestone received eight first-place votes and a total of 117 points to narrowly best Belmont Abbey in the preseason tally. The Saints narrowly held off the Crusaders, 1-0, last year in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Tournament Championship game.

Belmont Abbey collected four first-place votes in the preseason poll and a total of 112 points to claim second. North Greenville picked up 91 total points to secure the third spot, while Chowan (80) was fourth and Emmanuel (75) was fifth.

The voting was close from 6-10 with Barton (67) sixth, Mount Olive (58) seventh, Lees-McRae (54) eighth, Erskine (51) ninth and Southern Wesleyan (50) 10th. Converse and King closed out the voting in the annual preseason poll.
