Travelers Rest, Sc – The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Lady Lions traveled to the Crusaders of North Greenville University to bring home a buzzer beater win with a final score, 73-70.
Freshman Guard, Emily Dreslinski, has proved herself as a force to be reckoned with while on the court. So far, in her first season at Emmanuel, she has scored right at 80-points. Tonight, was no different for her as she scored 11-points during her 16 minutes of playing time. Her last score of the night was the buzzer beater 3-point basket when the game was tied 70-70, ending the game 73-70.
The first quarter started off slow for the Lady Lions on offense and defense as North Greenville crept up to a 7-point lead. North Greenville held the ladies from scoring for the first five minutes of the first half until Mikayla Trombley made a layup to get them in the game. North Greenville continued to press ending the first quarter up, 11-19. The second quarter looked the same for the Lady Lions with not putting up anymore points until there were five minutes left in the second quarter. North Greenville held about a 12-point lead throughout the rest of the quarter. Avery Scarbrough made a jump shot with 38 seconds remaining, but then the Crusaders were fouled and gained two free points. The half ended with North Greenville up 22-37.
Lochlain Corliss broke the cycle busting out a 3-pointer in the first minute of the third quarter. Following her was Marina Moreno Bendala sinking three back-to-back 3-pointers. The Lady Lions put quick points on the board tying the game 47-47, with a layup from Taylor Delasbour. North Greenville did not let the Lady Lions get away too easy as they kept the lead 49-52 going into the fourth quarter. Avery Scarbrough was fouled scoring two free throws to take over the lead. The Crusaders never regained, but tied the game 70-70. With zero seconds left on the clock, Emily Dreslinski sank a 3-pointer over the Crusaders for the win.

The Lady Lions now hold an overall record of 11-7, with a conference record of 6-6. The Lady Lions will welcome King University at home on Saturday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM.
