Franklin Springs, Ga - On the back of an impressive high-scoring 98-73 win against Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday, the Emmanuel College Women's Basketball have produced one of the biggest victory in the programs history, with a 107-73 win over Converse College. The score was the highest of any Conference Carolina's team so far this season, and one of the highest scores ever recorded in the history of the program. Elise Coberly had one of her most memorable nights of her college career finishing with a total of 27 points (7/9 from 3-pt) and 13 rebounds. Coberly is now 3rd in conference for both rebounds-per-game and 3pt-percentage. Mikayla Trombley scored 18 points, closely followed by Timia Reynolds who had 17, while Avery Scarbrough had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Freshman Taylor Delasbour had her most fruitful game of the season so far scoring 10 points off the bench, while Addie McNeely Chipped in 7 and Kristie Mason 4. The win stemmed from a consistent 4 quarter effort from the Lions where their high shooting percentages and domination of rebounds, assists and turnovers helped them reach the impressive target. A 5 point lead in the opening quarter turned into a 22 point lead at half time after the Lions pilled on 34 points, 12 from Coberly, in the second term. Team Captain Timia Reynolds had this to say about the game: "It was a fun game and everyone contributed to the win. We are excited to break 100!" The Lions have scored 283 points in their last 3 games, and have now won 7 games in a row. The Lions are now 12-4 in conference play, third on the ladder to King (13-3), who they beat late last month by 11 points, and Limestone (16-0), who they play for the second time in 2 weeks. The Lions are positioning themselves favorably for a strong post season tournament, which is now just 4 weeks away. The Lions are now 16-6 overall, and will take on Barton College at the Jack and Jane Shaw Athletic Center this Saturday February 13th at 12pm.
