Lions Overcome Georgia Southwestern to go 7-2

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA---The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team have bounced back from a 2 game losing streak to claim victory of Georgia Southwestern on Saturday afternoon. The 85-72 victory saw three top scorers for the Lions in Scarbrough, Trombley and Chester, who each scored 14 points.

Elise Coberly also chipped in with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Emmanuel's accuracy at the net, where they lead in percentages for field goals, 3 pointers and free throws helped propel them to victory. It was Emmanuel's quick start that proved costly for the GSW Canes. The Lions sped to a 10 point lead that was never able to be recovered by GSW.

Sophomore Forward/Center Avery Scarbrough said "after losing two games in a row we came in this game ready to fight for the win," and fight they did.

The Lions will be back on court Thursday the 17th of December when they travel down to Florida to take on Florida Southern at 4pm.
