FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA---The Emmanuel Women's Basketball Team has continued their unbeaten start to the 2015-16 season with a 65-61 win over North Greenville University. The closest of their games so far, the Lions were under pressure initially, with the Crusaders getting the jump on them early, taking a 4 point lead into the first break. But two of the steadiest performers for the Lions this season, Juniors Timia Reynolds and Elise Coberly lead a comeback for the Lions, each collecting 16 points. Addie McNeely made a positive impact from the bench once again picking up 10 points and 6 rebounds for the Lions. Mid way through the 4th quarter the Lions had the largest lead of the game, 16 points, but the Crusaders were not finished yet. Emmanuel managed to stem a late surge by the visitors, their accuracy at the free throw line proving to be the difference for the two teams. Keely Chester picked up 8 and 3 rebounds, while Avery Scarbrough contributed with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
The Lions will face Limestone at home this Saturday in a big top of the table clash. Both teams are undefeated this season, with Limestone having a slightly higher percentage due to an extra win (6-0). The game will begin at 2pm.
