Softball Adds Three Wins Over Weekend

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Emmanuel College softball team won a pair of games against conference opponent Converse College on Friday before splitting their double header with conference opponent Limestone College on Saturday. After these weekend game the Lions improve their record to 14-15 overall, 4-4 in conference.

Vs Converse

In their 5-1 win against Converse, Caitlin Parks recorded 2 hits with 2 RBI's. Isabelle Petty also brought in two runners on her single down right field line. Mary Baxter and Harlee Ingram each had two hits while Noelle Petty and Brianna Morgan had one apiece. 

The Lady Lions went on to close out their series with Converse with a 9-1 win in a quick 5 innings. Seven Lions recorded hits.

Vs Limestone 

The Lions captured the first win agains Limestone after 8 innings of play. After singling to right center in the fourth inning, Mary Baxter was advanced to second thanks to a sac bunt from Becky Collins. Noelle Petty then singled through the left side before Ryanne White brought Baxter in. Meredith Reece would be the next to score in the fifth inning after a double down right field from Mary Baxter brought her in. Despite the Lions lead, the Saints would tie up the score and force the game to an eighth inning.

In the top of the eighth, Mary Baxter would record another double to bring Reece in. Noelle Petty followed up with an RBI single up the middle, bringing the Lions lead to two. The Saints would score one run before three back to back outs secured the win for Emmanuel, 4-3.

The Saints would return with a solid performance in their second game, scoring ten runs. Ryanne White homered to center field to put three runs on the board in the Lions 10-3 loss.

Next up, the Lions will take on Young Harris at home on Wednesday, March 27th.
