Softball Drops Double Header To North Greenville

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College softball team dropped both games against conference opponent North Greenville University on Tuesday afternoon. These losses bring the Lion's record to 10-13 overall, 1-3 in conference. 

The Crusaders started the first inning with a single from Brooklyn Stone. The Lions would pick up two outs while Stone moved up to third. A single to second base would follow, bringing Stone in and the Crusaders to a 1-0 lead.

The Lions would take the lead in the bottom of the third starting with Baxter reaching first on a fielders choice. Caitlin Parks would follow up with a triple, bringing in Baxter. Parks would score on the next play while Ryanne White lined out to right field. 

The Crusaders put four more runs on the board in the next inning followed by one more run in the fifth to extend their lead to 6-2.

In the bottom of the 7th, Becky Collins would triple to center field, bringing in Parks. Meredith Reece then singled to right field to bring in Collins before the Crusaders would close out the game 6-4.

The next game started well for the Lions who scored three runs in the opening inning. Isabelle Petty started off with a single before Meredith Reece singled, bringing Petty to second. Parks would follow up with a homer to bring the Lions to a 3-0 lead.

The Crusaders retaliated in the second inning with five runs to take a 5-3 lead.

Emmanuel was unable to score again while the Crusaders added one more run to the board in the fifth inning. 

Next up, the Lions will travel to Columbus State on Wednesday, March 20th.
