GREENVILLE, S.C.---Emmanuel College junior outfielder Kalen Callaway has earned National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Softball First Team All-American honors for the 2015 season.

With this award, Callaway becomes just the fourth EC softball player to earn NCCAA First-Team All-American honors in the history of the program. Samantha Rao ('12), Heather Vaughn ('07 and '08), and Amanda Stillwell ('07) were the previous Lions to earn this distinction.

"Kalen has worked extremely hard. She is a leader on and off the field. We are incredibly proud of her and this very deserving honor. " said Emmanuel Head Coach Kacey Alexander.

Callaway was the leading hitter for the Lions this season pounding out 53 hits in 118 plate appearances. These impressive numbers at the plate found Callaway ranked in the top 15 in the nation in several NCCAA batting categories.

The 53 hits in 35 games found her ranked No. 4 in the NCCAA national rankings averaging 1.5 hits per game. Her .449 batting average was ranked No. 10 in the national rankings. An on-base percentage of 50% along with 12 doubles found Callaway ranked No. 11 in OBP and No. 11 doubles in the national rankings as well.

The Lions and Callaway will be back on the diamond in early 2016.
