Lions split with Columbia College Koalas

COLUMBIA, S.C.---After splitting a softball doubleheader at Truett-McConnell College on Monday afternoon, the Emmanuel College softball team returned to the diamond Tuesday afternoon in Columbia where the Lions earned another split this time with the Columbia College Koalas. EC won game one 4-3 and slipped in game two 10-1.

Leah Ritchhart pitched all seven innings in the game-one victory allowing just 4 Koalas' hits.

EC was down 3-0 early in game one before the Lions erupted for 5 runs in the fifth inning to take the lead. Columbia made a late comeback bid but EC finished out the game with the 5-4 win. Britney Burton went 1 for 2 at the plate with 2 RBIs.

Game two was all Koalas as the Lions fell 10-1.

EC is back on the field on April 5 as the Brewton Parker visit the Springs. First pitch is at 1 p.m.
