John Shealy to Lead Clay Target Shooting Program

Franklin Springs, GA - Emmanuel College Head Athletic Director Nate Moorman announced on Monday the hiring of John Shealy to serve as Head Coach of the Clay Target Shooting Program.

Coach Shealy is a native of Athens, GA who graduated from Emmanuel with an associates degree in Business ('85). He received his Bachelors degree from The University of Georgia in Business Administration with a minor in Small Business. John has been married to his wife Gina for 31 years, who is also an EC graduate ('85). The Shealy's have 4 children; Andrew, Forrest, Caleb, and Daniel.

Prior to their relocation to Emmanuel, John and his wife served as House Parents at Big Oak Ranch in Springville, Alabama. At the Girls Ranch, they took care of young girls who came from abused or neglected homes. In addition, John has a rich history ministering to youth through different organizations.

Director of Athletics, Nate Moorman, had the following to say, "We have a great addition to the Clay Target Shooting Program with Coach Shealy. He will be an asset to the program and to the mission of Emmanuel College with his experience in mentoring youth. He has already been well received by the athletes that have had a chance to meet him."

When asked about his new role, Coach Shealy had the following to say, "I'm very excited to be coming back to Emmanuel College. I understand they have had a very successful team over the past several years and I'm hoping to be able to continue to grow the program and bring in new shooters from all over the country."
