Men's Volleyball Swept by North Greenville

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga – The Emmanuel College men's volleyball team fell to conference opponent North Greenville University, 3-0 on Friday night.

This loss brings the Lions record to 4-8 overall, 1-5 conference.

The Crusaders easily took set one, 25-19, after doubling the Lions kills and leading from the start.

The second set saw a more confident Lion offense as Emmanuel had a higher attacking percentage at .292%. A stretch of points midway through the set forced the Crusaders to call a timeout as Emmanuel began to build a lead. Still, the Lions only managed to lead by two points before the Crusaders responded with four straight points. Emmanuel would hold on towards the end thanks to back to back Crusader errors, but North Greenville would close out the set 25-23.

In the third set the Lions led for the first five points thanks to a spread of kills from Jomar Mondestin, Alejandro Robles, Don Thompson, and Aleksa Lakic. However, a trio of points from the Crusaders would follow, earning NGU the lead. The Crusaders would hold that lead for the rest of the match, finishing off the Lions 25-21.

Next up, the Lions take on Webber International at home on Friday, February 15th at 7:00pm.
