GREENVILLE, S.C. - Alex Sobers of Emmanuel has been chosen as the Conference Carolinas Men's Swimmer of the Week.
The conference office made the official announcement on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019.
The senior from Bridgetown, Barbados picked up four first-place finishes and set four meet records at the 19th annual Sewanee Invitational in Sewanee, Tenn.
Sobers picked up the top spot in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:27.30. He was also first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:35.41. He was second in the 50 butterfly (23.41) and the 200 freestyle (1:43.02).
Sobers helped Emmanuel to first place in the 100 medley relay (43.29/25 free split 9.81) and the 200 medley relay (1:34.41/50 free split 21.01).

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its early initial inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
