MEN’S TRIATHLON COLLEGIATE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016’

Clemson, SC - 7 male EC student-athletes competed in the 2016 Triathlon Collegiate National Championships, held on the campus of Clemson University on April 23, 2016.

EC competed in the Olympic Distance Triathlon event (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run). There were 1,235 competitors in the Olympic distance event, from 129 collegiate teams around the United States.

On the men's side, Senior Captain Wyatt Nicholson was the top Emmanuel finisher with a time of 2 hours 28 minutes 52 seconds. David Rabern finished in 2:59:37. Hayden Pendergraft finished in 3:10:16. Freshmen Matt Bonna completed the course in 3:15:39. Freshmen Dwayne Foxworth finished in 3:18:56. Senior Meshach McKnight finished in 3:21:25. Freshmen Nolan Bell, 3:23:27.

 Head Coach, Allen Gilchrest commented: "We are thanking God for such a great Tri season. These 7 guys did such a great job as a team at Nationals, I am very proud of each of them. We will especially miss Wyatt, our Senior Captain, and thank him for his leadership these past 3 years." GO LIONS!
