MEN ASC CHAMPS - Session #5

Christiansburg, VA::: Day 3 prelim events, Lions swimming competed in Session #5 of the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships taking place at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center in Christiansburg, Virginia.

 

In the 200 back, Andrew Reichenbach qualified 13th in 2:02.29. Hayden Pendergraft qualified 16th in 2:04.34. Dwayne Foxworth finished 22nd in 2:34.90. All three swam lifetime best times.

 

In the 100 free, Adrian Aleksandrowicz qualified 3rd in 46.91. Freshmen Jarred Stigant qualified 11th in a personal best 47.66. Nolan Bell finished in 49th with 1:01.75.

 

In the 200 breast, lone EC swimmer, Cristhian Carrasquilla finished with a season best 2:20.70 for 21st place.

 

In the 200 fly, Santiago Aguilar was the top morning finisher with 1:53.61.

 

Finally, the morning 1650 free swims were contested, freshmen Matt Parsonage finished in 18:12.70, a personal best by 13 seconds. Senior Wyatt Nicholson finished in 18:47.51. Captain David Rabern finished in a lifetime best 19:16.76, dropping 16 seconds off his best time.

 

Swimming in finals tonight:

200 back = Reichenbach & Pendergraft

100 free = Aleksandrowicz & Stigant

200 fly = Santiago Aguilar

1650 free = Stanislas Raczynski

  

The Lions will also compete in three 400 freestyle relays.

 

Head Coach Allen Gilchrest: "6 more lifetime best times for the Lions this morning, they are in great position to score lots of points tonight. One more session to go, this is why we train so hard, athletes are competing in as much as 13 events in 3 days. Freshmen Stanislas Raczynski will be our first male EC swimmer in school history to be in the finals. We are excited to represent Emmanuel tonight!"
