Aguilar named CollegeSwimming.com Swimmer of the Week

SOMERS, Wis. — Emmanuel College Junior Santiago Aguilar (Bogota, Colombia) has been selected as CollegeSwimming.com's Conference Swimmer of the Week for the Appalachian Swimming Conference.

During the Nov 7 away meet against Berry College, Aguilar finish first in the 1000 free (10:42.39), first in the 200 fly (1:56.05) with a pool record, and first in the 100 fly (52.03) with a pool record. Finally the 400 medley relay (Aleksandrowicz, Mendoza, Aguilar, Reichenbach) relay took first (3:33.76). Aguilar's performances helped the lions defeat the Vikings 152 to 120.
In addition to National Swimmers-of-the-Week, CollegeSwimming.com selects 128 conference swimmers-of-the-week out of 10,851 swimmers who competed over the weekend. These selections are separate from selections made by each conference.

The Selection Criteria is based on an athletes number of individual and relay event wins in a given weekend, the strength of each swim (using CollegeSwimming.com's point values) and the team outcome (i.e. win or loss).
