ASC CHAMPS Session 3 - Prelims

Christiansburg, Va. - EC Men's and Women's swimming had another great morning at the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships, breaking 7 more EC school records and qualifying 11 swimmers for finals tonight.

On the Men's side, Camilo Mendoza qualified 2nd in the 400 IM with a time of 4:09.28. David Rabern qualified 16th in 5:16.67.

Santiago Aguilar qualified 2nd in the 100 Fly with a time of 50.83.

In the 200 Free, Mendoza finished as the top seed going into tonight's finals with a new EC school record time of 1:43.85. Zach Dunlap (2:30.08) and Ben Eavenson (2:47.21) bother personal bests.

In the 100 Breast, Andrew Reichenbach set a new EC school record, going 59.88 and breaking into finals in the 8th position. Clement Rowe finished in 1:02.50, respectively.

In the 100 Back, Adrian Aleksandrowicz set a new EC school record, going 50.64 and qualifying 2nd for tonight's final. Hayden Pendergraft finished in 56.17 (seeded 12th tonight).

On the Women's side, Laura Gonzalez qualified 2nd in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.60 (new EC school record).

In the 200 Free, Diana Tobo qualified 7th with a new EC school record time of 1:59.85. Savannah Gratz finished in 2:12.23; Paisley Whitaker swam a personal best (2:14.76) and Sarah Curtright (2:31.36).

In the 100 Breast, Emma Tamblyn set a new EC school record, going 1:13.74, qualifying 11th for tonight's finals.

In the 100 Back, Diana Tobo qualified 4th in 59.88, Senior Jenna Lamont swam 1:07.39 (personal best) and Paisley Whitaker (1:11.48).

Tonight's final also includes the 200 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay.
