Christiansburg, VA:: EC Men's and Women's Swimming started off the prelims of the Appalachian Swimming Conferences Championships with 2 school records and 3 Individual EC swimmers making tonight's finals.
The Distance group started off the morning with 6 personal best times. In the 500 Free (women) Laura Gonzalez was the top EC swimmer with a time of 5:35.56 (18th place). Senior Jenna Lamont 6:18.30 (26th), Sarah Curtright 6:49.76 (28th) and Senior Captain, Stephanie Canady, finished in 7:19.31 (29th overall).
In the 500 Free (men) Santiago Aguilar swam a new school record time of 4:48.06 (8th) and will compete in the finals tonight. Felipe Aguilar 5:01.53 (20th), Wyatt Nicholson 5:25.65 (30th), David Rabern 5:41.81 (32nd).
The Sprint group finished the morning session with 6 personal best times. In the 50 Free (women) Savannah Gratz finished 19th in 26.30 setting the EC school record. Emma Tamblyn finished 32nd in a personal best time of 27.14. In the 50 Free (men) freshmen Adrian Aleksandrowicz finished in 21.57 (5th place) and will compete in the finals tonight. Clement Rowe 23.44 (36th), Wyatt Nicholson 25.99 (50th), Zach Dunlap 29.97 (52nd), and Ben Eavenson 30.05 (53rd).
Tonight's finals also include the 200 Free Relays and 400 Medley Relays.
