Lion’s finish 4th at Sewanee Invitational

MONTEAGLE, Tenn. – The Emmanuel College Men's swimming team was in action again over the weekend when thy participated in the Sewanee Invitational. This was the 14th year of the Sewanee Invite, a two day meet in which the men combined to swim 87 events. The Lions finished 4th of 10 teams at the event after having numerous top-10 finishes.

Orrego had a stellar meet for Emmanuel, finishing 1st or 2nd in every event he entered. Orrego started day 1 with a 2nd place finish in the 50 yard breast with a time of 28.15 seconds. He followed that with a 100 yard IM time of 54.41 to finish 1st with a meet record. Day 2, Orrego would finish 1st in the 400 IM with a time of 4:16.20 (new meet record and EC school record) 1st in the 200 IM (2:00.36) and 2nd in the 200 Breast with a new EC school record of 2:11.55.

The EC men finished 4th at the event in the team standings with 380 points, behind Berry College, Mars Hill University, and Sewanee University.

Emmanuel will be in action again November 21-22 for the 4th Annual Brenau University Invitational being held at the Frances Meadows Aquatic Center in Gainesville, GA.
