FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Emmanuel College men's swimming team continued their season with a solid performance at the Emmanuel College Quad Meet on Saturday. The Lion's went 2-0 on the day, defeating King University 110-81 and Warren Wilson College 124-50.
The 200 yard medley relay team (Reichenbach, Rowe, Johnson, Fountain) started the day with a time of 1:45.03 for first place. David Rabern followed with a first place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle, posting a time of 12:33.53, while Santiago Aguilar finished first in the 200 yard freestyle (1:53.01).
In the 200 yard individual medley, Andrew Reichenbach finished in 2:06.56 to take first. Santiago Aguilar took first in the 100 yard butterfly (53.05) and the 100 backstroke (58.67).
Wyatt Nicholson finished third in the 500 yard freestyle with a personal best time of 5:33.58. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Andrew Reichenbach earned first with a time of 1:02.77 and Clement Rowe finished the same event with a time of 1:06.69 for third. The 200 yard freestyle relay team (Farley, Howe, Dunlap, Estabrooks) capped the meet by taking second with a time of 1:58.86.
Coach Gilchrest commented; "It was so great to have the EC community cheering our student-athletes on at our first home meet of the season. The men are working together as a team to achieve their goals, it is paying off, with a 4-0 record so far this season."
Emmanuel will be in action again on Friday and Saturday when they travel to the Sewanee Invitational.
