FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. -- The Appalachian Swimming Conference released its preseason poll, and the EC women were picked to finish eleventh, while the men were picked to finish tenth.

"We are only in our second season as a collegiate Men's & Women's swimming team" said Head Coach Allen Gilchrest. This is our first season in the Appalachian Swimming Conference. There are great teams in the ASC, and our teams look forward to competing against them this season. It is no secret on our team, our goal is to finish seventh in the conference (men) and eighth in the conference (women) at the end of the season."

The Emmanuel College men were picked to finish tenth in a field of 14 teams. The Emmanuel College women were picked to finish eleventh in a field of 15 teams.

"Right from the start, we are training much harder as a team this season. The team dynamic is so much stronger than last season. We expect great things this season, being ready to learn each day, giving our best, giving God the glory."

The Lions began their 2014-15 season at the Carolinas Relay Meet in Misenheimer, N.C., on Saturday, September 27.
