EDMONTON, Canada — Emmanuel College's Wyatt Nicholson represented Team USA on August 29 at the 2014 International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championships in Edmonton, Canada.

A junior from Clarksville, Ga., Nicholson completed the Sprint Triathlon Event, consisting of a 750 meter swim (.466 miles), 20 kilometers bike (12.4 miles), and 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) run, in 1 hour, 12 minutes, 43 seconds to earn a 51st place finish in his age group in the world championship event.

"Although the race was tough and I felt I could have pushed a little harder, the event as a whole was an amazing experience that I will never forget and hope to be a part of again someday. It was a true blessing," Wyatt says.

The ITU World Triathlon Series features world-class events all around the world, in which elite triathletes compete annually to become the ITU World Champion.
