Men's Soccer Drops Season Opener To Young Harris, 4-0.

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Emmanuel College men's soccer team traveled to Young Harris, Georgia, to compete in their season opener against the Young Harris Mountain Lions. Emmanuel fell to the Mountain Lions 4-0.

The Mountain Lions, who are ranked 5th in the Division II National Rankings, got off to a hot start, scoring their first goal at the 3:31 mark and adding two more within 15 minutes. The Lions were unable to answer despite 2 shots on goal from Emmanuel's Sam Murphy, and another from Harrison Wright. Young Harris' goalkeeper Alex Iglesias kept a clean sheet, shutting out the Lions. Young Harris added their 4th and final goal in the 81st minute, totaling 4 goals in 13 shots on goal and 28 total shots. Emmanuel failed to score in their 6 attempts, 3 of which were on goal.

Emmanuel's Freshman goalkeeper Giuliano Palma had 9 saves, recording a .692 save percentage in the Italian's first game as a Lion.

The men's soccer team will have their home opener on Saturday, September 7th at 6:00 P.M. against Tusculum College. Come out and support your Lions!
