Men's Soccer Drops Conference Match to Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The Emmanuel College men's soccer team fell 0-1 to Mount Olive on Sunday night.

While the Lions outshot their opponent 18 to 14, the Trojans triumphed with a single goal in the first half.

Twenty minutes into the match, Mount Olive's Alfie Pope pulled off a bicycle kick off a pass to score. This goal proved to be the dagger for the Lions.

Junior Danny McKerchar Cameron led the Lions in attempts with 6 total shots, including 4 on goal. Senior Blair Springhall followed behind with 4 shots.

Senior goalkeeper Andy Dunnett registered 5 saves for the Lions.

This loss brings Emmanuel's record to 3-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

The Lions will take on North Greenville University on Wednesday, September 26th in Greenville, South Carolina for their next match.
