Men's Golf Wraps Up Fall Competition at UWG Matt Dyas Invitational
CARROLTON, Ga - The Emmanuel College men's golf team competed in the 2019 UWG Matt Dyas Invitational on Monday and Tuesday in their last event of the fall 2019 semester. After 54 holes, the Lions shot 954 and finished in 11th place.
 
The tournament was won by the host school, University of West Georgia, who finished with a 28 under par 836 and defeated 7th ranked Lee University and 13th ranked Delta State by 9 strokes.
 
The event was played on the 7026 yard Oak Mountain Golf Course, home of the UWG Wolves. 
 
Delta State's Zach Zedicker, the number 1 ranked player in division II, was the individual medalist. Zedicker finished -13 with rounds of 66, 71, and 66. 
 
Seniors Chris Stowe and Emilio Fanjul led the way for the Lions, finishing tied for 54th at 19 over par. 
 
Junior transfer Joshua Varrie had all 3 of his rounds count for Emmanuel in his first event as a Lion. 
 
Junior Logan Reese and freshman Lukas Waldhagen struggled to find a rhythm as they closed out their fall 2019 semester.
 
Men's golf will continue their 2019/2020 season in February, 2020.
