PANAMA CITY, Fla.--- The Emmanuel College men's golf team finished their fall season competing in their second straight NCCAA National Championship at the Hombre golf course in Panama City, Fla. on October 20-23.

Eighteen of the top programs in the country were present and for the second straight year the men made it all the way to the third day of competition eventually finishing in 9th place.

Conditions were mild on the first day and the men could only put together a mediocre day as they finished the first round in the thirteenth spot. Entering day two with overcast skies, the Lions shot their best round of the tournament and moved inside the top twelve to make the second round cut. Both rounds were led by senior All-American Joel Sawyer with two round of 73.

The final round saw the wind pick up and the scores started up, but Emmanuel was able to grind out a decent score and finish alone in 9th place.

Joel Sawyer was able to finish the 3 days with a 3-over par 219 which was good enough for another top-20 tournament finish.

The men finished the Fall season still ranked in the top 25 sitting in the 23rd position.

Next up for the men will be the Coastal Georgia invitational at Sea Island, Georgia on February 9-10, 2014.
