Joey Kendrick started bowling at the age of 16 when his home town got its first Bowling Center, Port City Lanes.  He mostly bowled for fun with friends but then started to get serious about when he went to College and joined the Bainbridge College Bowling league. From there Coach Kendrick was selected to represent the college, in Bowling, at the annual ACUI tournament held at Crenshaw Lanes at Florida State University. After placing 2nd at the ACUI tournament the local bowling association starting encouraging him to join their leagues and his bowling carrier had begun.

The Bowling Industry would eventually become his life and he has worked in the Bowling Industry full time since 2002.  After going to work for the Bainbridge Y.M.CA., which had just built its own Bowling Center, Joey was named the Director of Bowling and managed all operations of the Langston-Gray Bowling Center.  Here he became a USBC certified coach and learned the operations of the Pro-Shop, though several Mike Riggins Pro-Shop Classes. In the fall of 2004 Coach Kendrick was named the interim Coach of the Florida State University Bowling Team due to the unexpected passing of their long time Program Director Marvin Overby.   Joey later left the Y.M.C.A. the following year to accept a full time position at Crenshaw Lanes and become the coach of the FSU women’s Team for the next nine seasons.  During his time at Florida State, he advanced to the USBC Silver Level in Coaching, joined the National Collegiate Coaches Association, and became an IBPSIA Certificated Pro Shop technician.

Joey has been happily married for 16 years to his wife, Michelle, and we were blessed 3 years ago with the birth of their son Ethan.  Michelle and Joey have been bowled together for over 18 years all over the country and Ethan bowled his first game once he learned to walk shortly before he turned a year old.  Ethan now will ask us every day to take him bowling. We are a bowling family!
