BRISTOL, Tn. - The Emmanuel College men's basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season to King University on Wednesday afternoon, 88-82. This loss brings the Lions record to 6-6 overall, 3-1 in conference.
King would grab the lead 7 minutes into the game. Despite EC tying the score back up on a few occasions, the Lions were never able to get ahead as the Tornado cruised to an 88-82 victory.
Three Lions scored in the double-digits with Junior Brandon Simpson totaling 20 points. Senior Emerson McClung put up 15 points while Junior Tyonn Stuckey followed with 14 points. With his performance, Stuckey brings his career total points scored to over 1000.
The Tornado led statistically in almost every category, outshooting the Lions 50% to 41.4%. The Lions grabbed 38 rebounds compared to 40 from King. EC also lost the turnover battle with 20 compared to only 16 from King.
The Lions will return to action on Thursday, January 2nd to take on conference opponent North Greenville University at home.
