MEN SWIMMING IN 1ST ON DAY 1 SEWANEE INVITE

Sewanee, TN --- The Men's swimming team is competing in the 19th annual Sewanee Invitational in Sewanee, TN. Five teams are competing (SGSC, Sewanee, LaGrange, Montevallo, Emmanuel) in this year's invitational.

 

How it happened:

In the 100 medley relay, the A relay (Rosa, Santos, Dantas, Sobers) finished 1st in a meet record (43.29)

In the 50 breast, Joao Santos finished 1st (26.84) Theo Courteaux 2nd (27.42) Robert Jones 7th (29.63) David Brown 11th (30.03) Alasdair McGhee 17th (30.67) Harrison Andrews 21st (32.93)

In the 50 back, Thiago Rosa finished 1st in a meet record (23.64) Igor Dantas 2nd (23.77) Alex Reyman 8th (26.70) Simon Roberts 11th (30.66)

In the 100 IM, Robert Jones finished 2nd (56.85) Joshua Varrie 3rd (56.90) Alasdair McGhee 6th (58.28) Pedro Terra 9th (58.83) Simon Roberts 19th (1:04.93)

 

In the 50 fly, Igor Dantas finished 1st in a meet record (22.40) Alex Sobers 2nd (23.41) Thiago Rosa 3rd (23.81) Joao Santos 4th (23.88) Theo Courteaux 6th (24.75) Alex Reyman 7th (24.80) David Brown 8th (25.13) Xzavier Reiter 10th (25.52) Joshua Varrie 22nd (28.73) Harrison Andrews 23rd (28.95)

In the 100 free relay, the A relay (Rosa, Santos, Dantas, Sobers) finished 1st in a meet record (38.27)

In the 1650 free, Alex Sobers finished 1st in a meet record (16:27.30) Xzavier Reiter 2nd (16:49.62) Elder Oliveira 3rd (17:01.73) Pedro Terra 4th (17:03.04)  

 

The Lions are in first place with 423 points, second Sewanee with 230 points, third Montevallo with 221, SGSC fourth with 127 points, LaGrange fifth with 63 points. Tomorrow the Lions are back in action for day 2. GO LIONS!
