James Friddle To Lead Both Men and Women’s Volleyball Programs.

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Interim Head Women's Volleyball Coach James Friddle will assume duties as the permanent Head Coach for the women's program in addition to his duties as the Head Men's Volleyball Coach.

Coach Friddle joined the Emmanuel College athletic department to serve as the programs 3rd Head Men's Volleyball Coach at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. Friddle came from Palm Beach Atlantic University after a five year stint where he most recently served as Interim Head Coach of the women's program. Prior to that, Friddle was a graduate assistant for the Sailfish from 2013-2015 before being named Head Assistant Volleyball Coach from 2015-2017.

No stranger to the Conference Carolinas, Friddle is a conference alumnus himself who played on the men's volleyball team for King University from 2008-2012. During his time at King, Friddle established himself as the all-time kills leader for the Tornado men's volleyball program until 2017 while being named twice to the All-Conference team.

Not only a standout on the court, Friddle was named as an All-Academic selection by Conference Carolinas as both a junior and senior.

After arriving to Emmanuel as the Head men's volleyball coach, Coach Friddle agreed to head up the women's program for the 2018 season. Coach Friddle was quickly and unanimously welcomed to the team and excelled as the new coach. Under his leadership, the women's team had their most successful season in program history, winning the Conference Carolinas Championship in just their first year of eligibility while racking up individual and team honors.

"We are very excited to see Coach Friddle take over both the men and women's programs," Said Athletic Director Nate Moorman. "He willingly stepped in and took over the women's program this year and has seen great success with it. We are confident that the men's team will see similar success under his leadership and are excited for their season to get underway."

The men's season will kick off with their first game on January 11th.

A national search is underway for a full time assistant to assist Coach Friddle with both teams. Interested candidates should send their resumes to jfriddle@ec.edu.
