Women's Volleyball Downs Lees-McRae to Advance to Conference Semifinal

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team stepped onto the court for their first ever Conference Carolinas postseason match on Tuesday. The #1 South ranked Lions took on the #4 North ranked Lees-McRae for the quarterfinal matchup. In their second matchup of the season, Emmanuel walked away with another win. This time a 3-1 victory with scores of 25-17, 22-25, 25-21, 25-18.

The Lions put down 14 more kills and had 20 more digs than their opponent. Senior Julie de Blanck led the team with 15 kills, while Junior Mia McKensey totaled 7 blocks.

As the highest remaining seed in the Conference, Emmanuel will now host the semifinal and final matches on Saturday and Sunday, November 10th and 11th. The tournament will kick off on Saturday at 5:00pm with Belmont Abbey taking on King University. The Lions will then take on Barton College at 7:30pm. Winners of both matches will advance to the Championship round on Sunday at 3:00pm.
