SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team continued their win streak with a 3-1 victory over Converse College on Thursday night. This 9th straight win brings the Lions record to 19-8 overall and 13-1 in conference.
Emmanuel faced the Valkyries less than a week ago, sweeping them in three sets at home. This go-around, the Valkyries took a set on their home court, but the Lions still earned the victory with scores of 25-22, 26-28, 25-15, 25-15.
Despite the Lions struggling with their lowest hitting percentage of the season at .095, they still managed to put down 47 kills, 10 more than their opponent. Junior Aysha Avery had a solid performance in the back row, tallying 24 digs while Junior Stephanie Hardy put up 35 assists. Senior Julie de Blanck had 15 kills, bringing her career count to 1197.
The Lions will wrap up their regular season play on Saturday, November 3rd with a final home game against Erskine College at 2:00pm. Regardless of the results, Emmanuel has already claimed the #1 spot in the South division and will host their opponent on Tuesday, November 6th for the Conference Carolinas quarter-finals.
