Women's Volleyball Continues Longest Winning Streak in Program History

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team cruised to another three set victory over conference opponent Limestone College on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions started off with the lead in set one and never looked back. A four point run started by a kill form Junior Jessica Gray would extend the Lions lead even further to 12-6. The Lions would have one more four point run before taking the first set 25-15.

In set number two, the Lions found themselves leading 16-11 before the Saints fired back. The saints put up 9 points to the Lions 2 to put them at a 20-18 lead in the final stretch. Despite the score difference, Emmanuel pressed through with two kills from Senior Julie de Blanck and Sophomore Jenna Woodruff combined with several Saints errors to close out the second set 25-23.

The Lions commanded the final set with a six point run followed behind with a seven point run, creating a ten point gap. Limestone was unable to overcome the deficit as Emmanuel finished with a 25-15 victory.

Jenna Woodruff led the Lions with 11 kills while de Blanck tallied 5 blocks. Junior Stephanie Hardy had 34 assists.

Emmanuel will take on Converse College again on Thursday, November 1st for their last week of regular season play.
