De Blanck Hits 1000 Career Kills With Conference Win

GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team captured their second conference win against Limestone College on Friday to bring their conference record to 2-0.

Against the Saints, the lions put up 39 kills, 47 digs, and a season high 20 blocks en route to their 3-0 sweep. Emmanuel dominated in every statistical category with final scores of 25-17, 25-17. 25-18.

Junior Mia McKensey had her first leading team performance of the season with 10 kills. The most impressive performance of the night, however, goes to Senior Julie de Blanck. De Blanck's 9 kills put her career kills at 1007, making her the first women's volleyball player in Emmanuel history to break 1000 career kills. This is another huge feat to add to her already lengthy list of accomplishments, including being named the 2017 Team Snap AVCA Player of the Year last season.

Congratulations to Julie and the rest of the women's volleyball team on their historic performance!

The ladies will play again Saturday morning as they take on regional opponent Flagler College at home at 11:00am.
