Lions Volleyball Suffers Two Losses in Day 2 of Regional Crossover.

HARROGATE, Tn. - The women's volleyball team had a tough day at Lincoln Memorial University in their two matches. After splitting games the previous night, the Lions dropped a match to Carson-Newman in three sets before falling to Lincoln Memorial in four.

Against Carson-Newman:

The team struggled with a .113 attack percentage, marking their season low. On top of being outscored 43 kills to 34, the Lions had nearly twice as many attack errors as the Eagles. Carson-Newman was also able to dominate defensively. This combination made for a quick match in favor of the Eagles with final scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-16.

Against Lincoln Memorial:

The Lions managed to improve their performance at the net from the previous match, but it wasn't enough to phase the Railsplitters who had a season high 55 kills.

Senior Julie de Blanck had 13 kills followed by Junior Jessica Gray and Sophomore Jenna Woodruff with 10 apiece. Junior Stephanie Hardy compiled 39 assists, while Aysha Avery tallied 18 digs.

The Lions look to break their losing streak against Clark Atlanta at their first home match of the season. Emmanuel will take on the Panthers on Friday, Sept. 7th at 7:00 pm.
