Women's Volleyball Defeats SWU for First Time in Program History

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Emmanuel College Women's volleyball team took on southern Wesleyan University for the second time this season. After previously losing in a very close five sets, the ladies had one of their best performances of the season to defeat SWU 3–0.

Not only was this a huge victory for their season, but also for the entire program, as this was the first time Emmanuel beat Southern Wesleyan at volleyball in school history. This victory secured Emmanuel's spot as number two in the conference.

All three sets were very competitive, with lead changes happening the entire length of the match. The scores were 27-25, 25-19, 27-25. Emmanuel was led by Julie de Blanck (#9) with 18 kills and 4 blocks.

The next game for the Lions will be Friday, Oct. 27th as the ladies take on Mount Olive for Senior Night.
