Lady Lions win against Belmont Abbey Crusaders

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. — In a home game this afternoon, the Lady Lions played four sets against Belmont Abbey's Crusaders, taking the game 3-1.
 
In the first set, Emmanuel tallied 14 kills. The Crusaders went down hard, tallying 11 kills. The Lions took the set by two points, with a final score of 25-23. The second set left the Crusaders behind by a wider margin. In a fast-paced set, the Lady Lions won 25-18, with 9 kills. Belmont Abbey came back strong for the third set, winning 25-23. But the Lady Lions took the match, winning the third set 25-19.
 
Guro Key Froeberg (#3) tallied 11 kills for the match, Julie de Blanck (#9) 15, and Sarah Neill (#18) 14. The match included countless high-energy volleys between the teams, resulting in 86 total digs for the Lady Lions, including 21 by libero Aysha Avery (#21) and 15 by setter Stephanie Hardy (#15).
