Women's Tennis Narrowly Defeated By Railsplitters

HARROGATE, Tn. - The Emmanuel College women's tennis team was narrowly defeated by Lincoln Memorial University on Saturday afternoon. With a valiant effort, the Lions fell 3-4.

Senior fantine Botella won 6-4, 6-3 in the singles #1 spot. The #3 spot saw Senior Pearllan Cipriano capture a victory 6-3, 6-1. Junior Victoria Silva took the final EC singles win at the #5 spot with scores of 6-4, 6-4.

On the doubles side, Fantine Botella and Senior Chloe O'Connor won 6-1 at the #1 spot, but the Lions were defeated in the #2 and #3 spot, giving the point to LMU.

The Lions will continue action on Thursday as they compete at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships. This four day event will be hosted at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina.
